Electric scooter battery repair and rebuilds
Most premium scooters that "die" have a battery problem: one weak cell group, a BMS in protection, a burnt connector. We test the pack cell group by cell group, then replace the BMS or rebuild the pack on new cells. Rebuilds from $449.
Models we see: Packs from 36 V to 84 V: Dualtron, Kaabo, Apollo, Segway GT and P-series, Inmotion, EMOVE, NAMI, VSETT, Teverun, Varla.
What it does, what failed, what it costs
| Symptom | Usual cause | What we do | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Range dropped by a third or more, or it dies under load at 30–50% | One or more weak cell groups — the pack is only as strong as its weakest group | Cell-group test under load; rebuild on new cells if several groups are weak | test $79, rebuild from $449 |
| Will not charge — charger light stays green, or charging stops early | BMS in protection, a failed charge port or fuse, sometimes the charger itself | Test the charger, port and BMS; replace what failed | from $249 |
| Shows full, then drops to zero or cuts out | Cell groups out of balance, or a BMS that no longer balances | Balance and BMS replacement, or a rebuild if the cells are worn | from $249 |
| Dead — no lights, no display, nothing | BMS shutdown, a blown main fuse, a burnt connector, or a deeply discharged pack | Diagnose the pack and the scooter wiring before anything is replaced | test $79 |
| Pack rebuild on new cells, 36–48 V / 52–60 V / 72 V and up | Aged cells: most packs lose real capacity after 500–800 full cycles | New cells, new nickel strips, BMS checked or replaced, new heat-shrink, capacity test | $449 / $649 / $849 |
Prices are "from", with labor and ordinary parts. We pick the scooter up and bring it back for $145, credited toward the repair. The final price comes after the diagnostic, and nothing is done until you approve it. All prices and the warranty →

Electric scooter battery not charging

Range dropped by half
Tire pressure, a weak cell group, and how to tell wear from a fault.
Swollen, wet or hot battery
What to do right now, and why nobody should ride or transport it.
What the price includes
- Battery test: every cell group measured at rest and under load, the BMS and the charge port checked, and a written result — the test fee comes off the repair if you go ahead.
- BMS replacement: a BMS rated for your pack's voltage and current, connected and balance-tested; the cells are checked before we close the pack.
- Rebuild: new cells of the same format and chemistry, spot-welded nickel strips (never soldered to the cells), a BMS checked or replaced, new insulation and heat-shrink, then a full charge, balance and capacity test before it goes back in the scooter.
- Price ranges cover typical packs. Very large packs (Dualtron X, Wolf King GTR and similar) are quoted after the test.
- 90-day warranty on the repair — including the cells we fitted.
Before we pick it up
- Ride it down to about half charge if you can — a half-charged pack is the safe way to transport lithium. Do not charge it to full the night before.
- Send the charger with it. A failing charger looks exactly like a failing battery, and we test both.
- If the pack is swollen, wet, smells or gets hot without riding, do not charge it and do not ride it — text us first. A damaged pack needs special handling and we plan the pickup with you.
Questions
Is a rebuilt battery safe?
A rebuild done right uses new matched cells, welded connections and a correctly rated BMS — the same build as the factory pack. What makes packs dangerous is mixing old and new cells, soldering to the cells or skipping the BMS. We do none of those.
Rebuild or a new pack — which is better?
If a new original pack is available at a fair price, it can be the simpler choice, and we will fit it. For most premium scooters a new pack costs $700 to $1,200 and more and is often out of stock. A rebuild on new cells gives the same capacity for less, and we can sometimes add capacity if there is room in the deck.
How long does a battery rebuild take?
Usually one to two weeks from pickup, because the cells are ordered for your pack. A BMS replacement or a test is faster.
Can you add range?
Sometimes. It depends on the space in the deck and what the controller and BMS can handle. We measure it and tell you before anything is ordered.
Do you repair packs from any brand?
Yes — Dualtron, Kaabo, Apollo, Segway GT, Inmotion, EMOVE, NAMI, VSETT, Teverun and similar premium scooters, 36 to 84 volts.
What if it is not worth repairing?
If you say no to the quote, the $145 covers the pickup, the diagnostic and bringing the scooter back, and that is all you pay.
We also repair Dualtron, Kaabo, Apollo and other premium brands with pickup across Southern California.
